Degradable glass fiber polymer wins innovation award
Finland-based Arctic Biomaterials has won a bio-based material of the year innovation award for its degradable glass fiber reinforced polylactic acid (PLA).
Belgian company Cardolite Corporation also won an award for its cashew nutshell residual-based blocking agent, while Spain-based AIMPLAS (Spain) was awarded a prize for its biodegradable nets for green beans. The special award of the jury was given to Warka Water (US) for a water collecting bio-based tower in dry areas.
The ‘Bio-based Material of the Year 2018’ focused on new developments in the bio-based economy that have a market launch in 2018, during the 11th International Conference on Bio-based Materials’ organised by nova-Institute.
